Ashby’s diverse professional background has provided a solid foundation for his role as wealth manager, investment specialist with Capstone Financial Partners. His experience includes serving as a sell-side equity analyst, writing capital markets and investment commentary, developing and overseeing investment due diligence, and managing client relationships for individuals and institutional entities with investable assets as large as $2 billion. In addition to serving as a member of Capstone’s Investment Committee, Ashby develops and manages investment portfolios and asset allocation strategies for qualified retirement plan and wealth management clients. For Ashby, the most rewarding aspect of his job is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients based on trust, transparency, and frequent communication. He is a member of the CFA Society Virginia and the CFA Institute and utilizes The CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct as a foundation for his business.

Ashby is a native of Richmond, Virginia. During his time away from the office, he can usually be found fishing, playing sports, or travelling. Ashby enjoys spending time with family and friends and often travels to his home away from home in Urbanna, on Virginia’s Rappahannock River. He is active in his church and involved with his high school and college alumni networks, having formerly served as leader of Hampden-Sydney College’s Young Alumni Group in Richmond. Although his days of being a young alumnus are in the past, he remains involved with his alma mater and continues to promote the benefits of a well-rounded liberal arts education based on the ethical principles of an Honor Code.
