Providing education for retirement
As partner and retirement planning specialist at Capstone Financial Partners, David focuses on asset protection and growth, helping his clients to manage income flow and enjoy their retirement years. David has worked in the financial services industry in one way or another for 35 years, starting out as an agent for a national life insurance company while still an undergraduate at Virginia Tech. Over his long career – which has included working as an executive for insurance companies, small brokerage operations, an internet healthcare startup, and now an independent wealth management firm – David has always focused on education. He considers teaching to be his calling and enjoys educating people on personal finance. David teaches financial education classes at the University of Richmond and also offers more in-depth monthly workshops at the office.
Promoting education in the community
David and his wife Robbie have two children. He keeps a focus on family and believes exercising and staying healthy play an important role in family life. David enjoys volunteering as a referee for his kids’ swim team, playing golf, hiking with his family and fishing down in Hatteras, NC. He fundraises for All Saints Catholic School, a a pre-k to eighth grade parochial school, and also serves on their board. Sixty percent of the student body at All Saints comes from underprivileged backgrounds, and 95 percent of the students who complete the program go on to college.
